FAQs
Can I stay with a friend instead of booking a hotel?
Yes. Your host must register their property on the Hayya "Host Family & Friends" platform and add you as a guest. Once registered, select "Hosted by Family & Friends" as your accommodation type during the application.
Is health insurance mandatory for visa holders?
Yes. All visitors must hold a health insurance policy from a Qatari-registered company. International coverage does not satisfy this requirement. A local policy covering basic emergency services is mandatory.
Does my GCC Residency Permit guarantee visa approval?
No. Approval depends on your profession. Qatar maintains an approved list of high-level roles, such as doctors, engineers, and managers, for the GCC Resident Visa. Applicants outside these categories must apply for a standard Tourist Visa.
